Terms of service
Last updated September 2026
Bantaba is a ticketing platform. Organisers sell tickets through it and we handle payment, delivery and admission. These terms say who is responsible for what — because when an event is cancelled, that question is the only one that matters.
Who you are contracting with
When you buy a ticket, your contract for attending the event is with the organiser, not with us. Your contract with Bantaba covers selling you the ticket, delivering it, and admitting you at the gate. This matters: if an event is poorly run, that is the organiser’s responsibility; if your ticket does not arrive or does not scan, that is ours.
Your ticket
- —A ticket is one admission. It is admitted once, and the QR code stops working the moment it is used.
- —Sharing a screenshot does not create a second ticket. Whoever presents it first gets in; the second person is refused.
- —If transfers are enabled for an event, transferring a ticket reissues the code and the original stops working.
- —You may be asked for ID matching the name on the ticket, and for proof of age where the event is age-restricted.
Prices and fees
Every fee is shown before you pay: the ticket price, the platform fee, and the payment provider’s fee, itemised. Nothing is added at the final step. The organiser receives the ticket face value; the fees are how the platform and the payment provider are paid.
Refunds and cancellation
- —Refund terms are set by the organiser and shown on the event page before you buy. Read them — they differ by event.
- —If an organiser cancels an event, paid tickets are refunded and every holder is notified.
- —If an event is postponed, your ticket carries over to the new date unless the organiser says otherwise. You may request a refund instead.
- —A ticket already used to enter is not refundable — you attended.
- —Payment provider fees may not be recoverable on a refund. Where that is the case it is stated at the time.
If you are an organiser
- —You must be verified before your event can be published or money can settle to you. Verification means a registration document and a payout account in the entity’s own name.
- —You are responsible for the event actually happening as advertised, for the venue being safe and licensed, and for any permits it requires.
- —You are responsible for your own refund policy and for honouring it.
- —Attendee data is provided to you to run your event. You may not sell it, pass it to sponsors, or market to people who have opted out.
- —Payout follows the schedule stated in your dashboard, after the event, net of fees and refunds.
What we will not allow
- —Selling tickets to an event you have no right to sell.
- —Events that are illegal, or that put attendees at foreseeable risk.
- —Automated buying that denies real people a fair chance at a high-demand release.
- —Attempting to forge, duplicate or alter a ticket, or to interfere with gate scanning.
We can suspend an event or an account for these reasons. Where we do, we record who decided and why, and we tell the organiser.
Limits
We do not promise the platform is never unavailable, and we are not liable for an organiser’s failure to hold an event. What we are responsible for is delivering a valid ticket for a completed payment, and admitting it at the gate. If we fail at that, we refund you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of The Gambia. Payment services are provided by a provider licensed by the Central Bank of The Gambia.
